After a long drive into Bruges, a quaint Belgian town, Burger Burger was the ideal spot for an evening meal. Set only a short distance from the main square Markt, it is easy to find and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. However, its indoor premises are small and cramped and so we opted to sit in the back terrace beneath the heaters.
The menu focussed on a range of beef burgers, but other items were available (such as chicken), although I wouldn’t recommend this for a vegetarian or vegan as they may struggle to find a main meal to eat. Unfortunately, Burger Burger did not have a wide range of beverages to choose from, in particular alcoholic, and therefore if you were looking for a dinner + drinks venue this may not be best suited. Nevertheless, this would appeal to children due to the wide range of burgers, and it is possible to only order a burger on its own, which may be advantageous for smaller hands and stomachs.

Opting for cheeseburgers, we were not let down. The burger itself was large and the buns, powdered in flour, held their position well. The patty was juicy and moreish - although a little raw for our liking, a slice of cheese melted over the patty adding further to its mouth-watering flavour. Also containing a generous slather of ketchup, a sliced gherkin, and skewered through the centre to ensure every bite had every component; Burger Burger clearly outdid themselves with their classic, flavoursome delight. We shared a bowl of fries – arguably the best in Bruges – which were crispy on the outside, fluffy and delicate within, with a gorgeous golden colour to them; these were perfect alone or dipped in mayonnaise.
The service we experienced at Burger Burger was prompt and polite, we were given several choices of where we would prefer to sit, and the server spoke English which assisted us greatly. We were brought any condiments we required to our table, our meal served promptly and all with a smile. Overall, Burger Burger offers a range of delicious burgers and they will always do their best to accommodate you despite how busy they may be. The only suggestion I could make would be to steer clear of their Campari Orange, unless you like the taste of hairspray…
